DO WE HAVE TO DO IT THE WESTERN WAY? Celebrating the Cultural Differences Between Eastern and Western Cultures

The purpose of this workshop is to open up a dialogue and build understanding between people from different cultural backgrounds. We'll explore differences between Western and Eastern cultures, sharing insights into how parenting and teaching approaches differ across cultural contexts and providing ways to work with and understand each other better. The workshop will focus on cultural practices in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, India and the Philippines. Through cross cultural dialogue, we hope to help child care providers of all cultures better understand how to celebrate and support cultural diversity in ECE contexts.

This Workshop is for:

  • Teachers and early childhood educators
  • Family care providers
  • Nannies
  • Parents and grandparents

All of Our ECE Workshops Are:

  • 5 hours of ECE professional development in early childhood education (certificate provided)
  • Participatory and reflective
  • Practical and thought provoking
  • Developed by and for child care professionals
  • Community building (lunch together is included)

The Liberation Learning Project is a grassroots network of local child care leadership schools.

We are united by the values of unconditional respect, universal dignity, and shared responsibility in child care.

We are building a broad social movement to transform child care so that all British Columbia families and children have adequate and equitable child care supports.

The realization of this vision will provide families with more time to be together.
